Microsoft® Word 2003/2007

Description:  Using a stair-step approach, with one skill building upon the last, the novice is introduced to word processing, the moderately skilled will become proficient and the proficient will be challenged. Module subjects include:

  • Introduction to word processing software and working with templates

  • Editing documents using various techniques and tools

  • Formatting documents (fonts, format painter, line and paragraph spacing, alignment, tabbing and indents, bullets and numbering, shading and more) is the focus of this module which is where the "fun stuff" begins.

  • More formatting fun. With the use of a mock newsletter create sections, set page breaks, place text into columns, insert page numbers work with headers and footers, table text and learn about clip art.

  • Tables are explored in detail in this module (Did you know they can do math?)

  • Illustrating a document with graphics, charts and other imbedding objects is the focus of this module

  • Create a Web page

  • Working with themes and building blocks

  • Mail Merge for letters, labels and more

  • Styles  and Templates in detail

  • Multipage Documents (outlines, Tables of contents, indexing, sections, footers and headers, masters, etc)

  • Working with references (foot notes, equations, bibliography, etc.)

  • Program Integration

Classes can scheduled in 2, 4 or 6 hour blocks.
