ENMU-Roswell has a long history of providing vocational training at the Roswell Correctional Facility.  This relationship began to change during the Summer of 2000 when, at the request of the NM State Correctional Education Department, the Customized Training Department of ENMU-Roswell began to develop a series of specialized training programs for statewide delivery.

The initial project involved the development of a basic vocational and applied literacy curriculum and program that could be provided to inmates in a highly restricted environment.  Customized Training developed a series of programs that provided instruction in 12 different career areas.  Each area includes training in applied literacy, occupational vocabulary and technical skills, all designed to be delivered in a flexible program.
