Mechanical Print Reading Series

Whether you are a maintenance operator or technician, your workplace demands a strong foundation in mechanical print reading. This four-part course was designed specifically to teach the six principal views of the blueprint, the types of lines used in the drawings and sectional views, and the differences between first and third angle projections.

Part 1 of the Mechanical Print Reading Video Series

Your employees will gain an understanding of the six principal views of a blueprint.

• Identify the views used in an orthographic projection
• Identify differences between third angle and first angle projections

Part 2 of the Mechanical Print Reading Series

Identifying the graphic description of an object, and understanding the differences between metric and English sheet sizes will be covered.

• Concept dimensioning
• Tolerance dimensioning

Part 3 of the Mechanical Print Reading Series

You will understand the various types of mechanical drawings including: layout, detail, prefix, and revision symbols and miscellaneous markings.

• Identification of differences between mechanical drawings
• Recognize symbols, revision notes, and special markings

Part 4 of the Mechanical Print Reading Series

Explaining thread features, forms and specification notes used in mechanical prints will be covered.

• Thread features forms and characteristics
• Differences between English and metric thread notes
